How is the best way to lower my Glucose levels by adjusting my insulin?I have been using my insulin my Doctor has prescribed By using one 40 Units of the long term and 8 Units of the short term by counted out measuring my Carbohydrates but my level are not dropping.

If your long term insulin is one of the 24 hour types, Lantus or Levemir, it should be taken exactly on the same hour every day, the exact amount the doctor says.

If the short acting insulin is the really fast types, action in about 15 minutes, then you need to figure out exactly how many grams of carbohydrate the unit of insulin will cover. And how many points of glucose you need a unit of fast insulin to cover.

this takes a lot of work like writing down and finding the grams of carb for each food you eat and the time and checking your glucose very very closely.

I also use a very very low carb food plan so I don’t have to cover too many grams of carb at a time. No more than 30 per main meal and 5 to 10 per snack. Some days all I do is protein meals to allow the bod to readjust. Some nutritionists and dieticians seem to think low carb is harmful, but the doctors are coming around to seeing it is very helpful. They are learning that low carb is better than all those “complex carbohydrates”.
