Diabetic and ketosis found in urine?
my husband is type 2 diabetic just started medication but nurse has told him there was ketosis in his urine he has to go back on monday but could anyone tell me what this means

keytones in the urine mean he is burning fat for fuel. this is bad in a diabetic because this means their blood sugar is high. when the body cannot use the sugar in the blood for energy it begins to burn fat and muscle. this creates keytones and they spill over into urine. this is a bad sign and he needs to have his medication adjusted.
