Social Security and Medicare are totally unrelated. You get Medicare when you turn 65, whether or not you are drawing Social Security. If you take early Social Security you still have to wait until you are 65 for Medicare. However, if you are getting Social Security DISABILITY you will get Medicare 24 months after you are approved for disability or at age 65, whichever comes first.
