Type 2 Diabetes Problem?

Hi, I have been diabetic for less than a year now so still trying to get to grips with the condition. I was advised that a good level for my blood glucose readings is somewhere between 4 & 7 mmol. Yesterday at work I began to feel shaky and a bit ill. I guessed it might be low blood sugar level although it hadn’t happened to me before. When I tested I was 4.7 which I thought should be fine, however I recovered after eating a piece of chocolate and I went up to 8 mmol.
As 4.7 is a good level why would I feel ill and shaky until it went up?

Though this is a very normal blood sugar, since diabetics get used to higher sugar levels than normal, they can develop symptoms similar to ‘hypos’ at higher levels than non diabetics, I assume that you are already on some form of medication?
