My son has thread worms again?

Any suggestions?

Hes nearly 3.

This is the third outbreak in six months. The first two times he was at a nursery which was very unhygenic. So we took him out.

Now he’s got them again, I’m quite upset. We are a clean family, I know all about cleanliness and germs being a beauty therapist by trade. I’ve had to give him the horrible medicine that upsets his stomach but gets rid.

Is there anything I can do. I keep his hands clean,he has baths often, change his beds often, he does try and put his hands in his moutha lot. I’m not sure where he has picked these up but it makes me feel sick & I feel like I’m letting him down. Please help if you know anything that can help here. Thanks

Unfortunately, repeat infection is very common. To help reduce this and to prevent the thread-worms from spreading to others, you can take the following precautions:

It is recommended for the child to shower on the night the medicine is given and again the next morning to remove eggs laid during the night.

Treat all other family members at the same time with the medicine. Adults can also get thread-worms.
It is not necessary to “worm” the family when you worm the family pets-dogs and cats do not get thread-worms or pass them on the people.
Encourage your child not to scratch, despite the itching.
Keep your child’s fingernails clean and trimmed. Stop children from nail biting or thumb sucking.
Have your child wash his/her hands with warm soapy water for at least 10 seconds after going to the toilet.
Launder bedding and toys in hot water.
Vacuum often, to remove any eggs.
Discourage your child from eating food that has fallen on the floor.

Just heard the news about Petite. I’m so offended right now. I am a life long Yankees fan and am not feeling too good about their possibilities in 2011.
