Does Tinnitus caused by loud noises lessen if not go away after a while of avoiding loud noises?

I have a constent ringing in my ears I believe was caused by my excessive use of my Mp3 player. I have thrown it away and am now doing my best to avoid loud noises to prevent my tinnitus from getting worse. I was just wondering if it’ll get better after a while or if this pitch of ringing will be permanent if not lessen. (yes, I know throwing an mp3 player away is a waste, pls don’t comment on that, I want an answer to my question) And yes, I know it was stupid to listen to loud music without considering the consequences, just please, no insults. I just want an answer.

sometimes will get better, I don’t want to say I told you so but I see this all the time, young kids listening to loud music.

I have had tinnitus since 1993, it happened after a bad ear infection, and it’s no fun.
Avoid soda, coffee, salty foods etc. There are natural things you can get at the drug store today.
One is an ear drop, it doesnt’ cure it but I guess will help at night when you are trying to sleep.

My doctor actually made some jokes when I told him about it. well it’s no joke sometimes mine gets really loud.
