What type of infection do I have?

For several weeks, I have been going to the toilet frequently because of diarrhea. And I wondered what started it. Sometimes, when I go the bathroom and feel constipated. I have read health books, and they have stated that I need to eat cereals, yogurt, and vegetables.

The last one of the three, I honestly do not eat much. The problem is that every 50 minutes almost I have to go to the bathroom via diarrhea and that interfers with daily activity. Because I have constipation and diarrhea, and because they cause me to go to the bathroom alot, I’m wondering do I have any of these diseases Colitis, Gastritis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, or Chron’s Disease, or something else. Please people I need help

I recommened you go to your doctor, who might take care of the problem him/herself or will recommend you to a nutritionist. A nutritionist will be able to see what foods might be causing your diarrhoea, because diarrhoea is usually caused by a certain type of food which irritates your stomach. If you get constipated a lot, you might want to start taking Fibogel, which is an anti-constipation drink (it tastes like lemon so don’t worry about it tasting horrible =P). However, I think it is a prescribed medicine, so contact your doctor about it.

I have IBS. It is usually characterised by random pains in the stomach, which then lead to very painful contractions in the rectum, followed by a feeling of wanting to go to the bathroom, but not being able to do anything because of the amount of pain. If that is what you’re feeling, then you should definitely talk to your doctor.

Other than that, you shouldn’t look at books. Only in small cases should you consult books, but not only can they be very inaccurate, they can also make you worry more and become very hypochondriacal. So really, the only thing you can do is go to you doctor, who will ask you what you’re feeling, and will go from there. You might also be asked to go see a urologist.
