Bathroom etiquette for guys?

You are in a bathroom alone and there are 3 urinals. You use either the far left or the far right. Some guy comes in and instead of using the one farthest to you he takes the one right next to you. Do you think he was gay? That really freaked me out! I just don’t think that is proper etiquette for a guy in the bathroom.
