What symptom is this?

Hi everyone, thank you for taking your time and reading what I have to ask.

My girlfriend had been puking roughly about 6 times so far today. Starting around 5 in the morning and it’s 1pm now. I asked an earlier question if she was pregnant, and a lot of people said no because it’s to early to tell. Now I’m wondering if she’s been food poison or is there a chance that she got a bug in her? Please help me because I hate seeing her sick and vomitting every hour. She also told me that when ever she puke, she feels a lot better, but than she feels sick again. Please help us on this situation. Thank you.

It is likely a viral infection. There isn’t really anything you can do about it… not alot a doctor can do about it. There are anti-emetics, and some anti-viral medicine, but nothing specific to what she has.

If she continues to vomit into the evening, go to a doctor.. IE: Call around and see what the latest clinic’s hours are (a few stay open into the night) — and if it hasn’t really eased up by the evening, take her there.

Because she will become vastly dehydrated and weak from the vomiting, and cannot hold fluids. If it continues an exam and anti-emetics (among other medication) should be considered. If she has lost enough fluid a short duration of an I.V. would probably make her feel alot better.

I would recommend OTC products, but she can’t hold anything down at the moment. If she can, Pepcid (famotidine) would be the best to calm the stomach (but don’t force it when she is still vomiting regularly. Reglan would be good as well, though it is prescription only.

All the best,

(BTW, watch yourself,.. she might be feeling better soon and you worse)
