A Herpes Reversal (Talk your way out of herpes)?
If someone says flat out: “I have herpes.” Is there anyway that one can talk their way out of it? Anyway story you can come up with would be great. Please note, I’m not trying to talk my way out of it personally, I’m writing a screenplay.

They could have been referring to oral herpes, rather than genital herpes.
Oral herpes is very common, and it is NOT an STD.
