Find out if someone is HIV positive
What’s the point of finding out if someone is HIV positive if they don’t have insurance to treat it?
My friend is convinced he has HIV after finding out the person he was involved with is HIV and a clinic requested he get tested after his partner had given the names of people he was in contact with. He got tested but refuses to go back to get the results, saying that he does not have insurance to get treated if he’s positive and it’ll only make him depressed to know. He is no longer sexually active either but do you think he should find out anyway? I can’t talk him into going to find out and they won’t tell him over the phone which I think is stupid because he called twice for them to tell him and they only want him to come in person which there doesn’t seem to be hope that he ever will.

Of course he should find out!! Even if he doesn’t have insurance, there are plans through the pharmacuetical companies that will pay for the high dollar medications and treatments!!!! Plus he should find out because what if he doesn’t even have it and he is stressing out for no reason. But please tell him if he does have it , it doesn’t have to be a death sentence, there are medications that work and even without insurance he can get the medications he needs through the drug company.
