Garlic can cure HIV: is it a myth or reality?

It is said that garlic has strong antiviral effects, that it effectively kills virtually any bacteria and viruses. Plus, it strengthens the immune system. Why is it then considered a “myth” that garlic can cure HIV when it is said that it kills the virus itself in the body, as well as strengthens the CD8+ T cells that kill HIV infected cells?

Isn’t it really possible that eating large amounts of garlic for a longer period of time would eradicate the virus from the body?

garlic does have proven therapeutic effects on the body. if this were true, we wouldn,t be having an AIDS epidemic in africa.

I don’t entirely agree with you. In Africa, people very often don’t have drinking water and basic necessities for life, so even if they had enough garlic, it wouldn’t strengthen their immune systems severely weakened by food and water shortages,as well as various diseases
