How would i talk to my doctor?
So i’ve been researching, and according to every medical website, my symptoms fit 100% to disorganized schizophrenia. Well, tomorrow(friday) I’m going to the doctors. So, how would i even begin to tell him about this? What do i say? What do i leave out to not get admitted to a psych ward? I need your guys help. You haven’t let me down yet, please don’t start now /:

Why not print out some information you have on schizophrenia and take it with you. Explain to your doctor that you noticed a couple of things that weren’t right and when you have done some research this is what you found. Say you would like to have a test for this and their advice- then listen to what they have to say. That way they will take it seriously without you having to push them.
If you have not previously discussed it with them, they might not be able to diagnose you straight away- this isn’t to say they don’t believe you but they might want to monitor it. You will not get admitted to a psych ward based on this- you have purely raised concern and are asking for their help- this is how they deal with any medical issue. The best thing is to be open with them, say you are nervous about talking it through and say clearly what the problem is. Good Luck!
