Men have lived without such for a very long time. I would assume it could only lessen the sensitivity with prolonged use. However, since I once entertained the notion of helping men who had been accustomed to using manual stimulation and were unable to achieve climax by other means (as a sex therapist, I have studied this and variation of technique is still the failsafe.) I will just tell you that it is probably more like the real thing. So if you want to purchase this item, by all means do, but do not use it exclusively, just as when you are with a partner you should not use the same method and positioning every time. Healthy sexual behavior starts with the mind and you are an open minded, safety-oriented individual with the sense to know that you can ask anything here. I would go as far as to say that you may be the only person I have come across that gets embarassed less easily than I do. LOL!!
