Advice on mirtazapine 15mg and im an ex epileptic

need some information on the antidepressant called Mirtazapine, are the safe to take if I was once epileptic 6 yaers ago, ive had an operation to cure my epilepsy, my epilepsy was caused by a fall when i was a baby and in theatr they just took away that bit of brain, but i suffer a lot with depression and anxiety, and sleep, these tablets would help all three, i want to mention to my doctor about them but she;s away for 3 weeks.

im on ciltlapram or sumit at the mo 15mg and they dont do nothing for me…. soorry this a long read for ya all but thanx again for you pacient xx

There is an statement on Mirtazepine brochure in contraindication segment that says “caution if seizure disorder”. Then I would not prescribe it to somebody with seizure disorder if patient has a barely controlled seizure disorder or if I could choose another medication.
I should emphasize that if you need to be treated for depression most of antidepressants carry the risk of making seizure worse, some more like Bupropion, and tricyclic antidepressant and some have less “toxicity”.
You remember that you need to talk to your doctor and let make a conscious decision.
