Is this what ‘foot cramp’ is…?

Sometimes, one of my toes just ‘locks’ in a downward position – sort of like its paralysed, and i feel a horrible cramp pain.
The only way to solve it is to bend my toe back and then its all fine.

A foot cramp involves a good portion of the foot itself. I have had those bad, it starts in the center as in the arch of this and seems to encompass a good part of the foot before it’s done.It seems to radiate (travel) up the lower part of my leg sometimes if it’s intense. I find eating either a baked potato, drinking orange juice or having a banana are good sources of potassium that help this fast.

I also extend my foot out in front of me when sitting down and flex the foot up and then extend it back down to lay flat out in front of me repeatedly. This relaxes and releases the cramp fast. I read that in a book I have for pain relief that was issued by reader’s digest and submittted advice by varied doctors.

I’d think what you relay is a toe cramp and you are lucky if it’s just related to the toe even with the cramp, trust me the foot cramp covers more area and feels like the arch of the foot seems to tighten up like a fist or lock in place. It’s strange to have them either way no matter what part of the foot is affected I feel.
