My first tampon is uncomfortable and hurt.
I am using my first tampon. Is it normal for it to hurt?
I just put it in and it feels sore and uncomfortable. It hurts to move around. My mom told me that if it hurts it means I’m not having my period, but I’m positive that I am. I’m pretty sure that I put it in correctly, but I am in a lot of pain from it. Is this normal for a first time? Should I try to take it out now because of this feeling or should I wait it out?

For the first few times you use a tampon, it may hurt a bit to move around and to cough and sneeze. Sometimes it may feel like it’s falling out. After a few days your body will be used to it and it won’t hurt.
