My daughter is allergic to foods that she has been eating just fine

I found out that my daughter is allergic to foods that she has been eating just fine?

We found out that my 2 year old daughter has a severe allergy to peanuts after she had a bad reaction to her first PBnJ sandwhich.

Ok well the did a RAST test and found more things she was allergic to. One of them being soy. I wasn’t as worried until I went through the kitchen to remove any product with peanut or soy in it and many things contained soy! Even things she had been eating for the past year. But she never had a reaction to the products. I am confused. The soy allergy (16.7 out of 99) isn’t anywhere near as high as the peanut (peanut 97 out or 99 on the test) allergy.

How is this possible? Why is she having NO reaction to something that was proven she has an allergy to?

Funny that multiple sclerosis was mentioned. I have that. But I have no allergies and have been tested.

She is so lucky you found this out now. It is possible that long term diseases like multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and other auto-immune diseases may come from inflammation
caused by low grade allergies. It may be that chronic sinus problems or crohn’s disease may come from eating foods that are bad for you. She won’t miss peanuts or soy! Keep her healthy!
