I have had a marble sized lump on my but. what do i do?

its been there for about a year and it hurts when i sit down.

There is no way of knowing exactly what you are describing . . but cancer can occur in this location, but so can pilonidal cysts . . so you will need to be examined by a doctor . . sooner rather than later. If this does turn out to be a malignancy there is a type of cancer called sarcoma. A sarcoma is a malignancy that is more common in young people and affects muscles, bone, blood vessels, fat, ligaments, cartiliage, joints, and the soft tissue in the body. There are over 60 subtypes of sarcoma . . a primary location of buttock soft tissue sarcoma is indicative of Liposarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, or synovial sarcoma . . but only a biopsy can identify the subtype.
