Chest pain and breathing problem – really scared!?

Posted by · Leave a Comment

over the past 2 weeks, whenever i have a sharp intake of breath (laughing, shock etc) or if im outside and get a blast of cold air into my chest, i end up coughing so hard i cant breathe, and once the coughing has subsided, i still find breathing quite hard for about 10-15mins afterwards.

ive had chest pains for around 9 months now, but my doctor reconed it was stress and put me on beta blockers, which did nothing for me. now whenever i cough like this, the pain in my chest returns and runs from around my heart area right under my arm.

i dont have a cold/flu etc and havent had for a lpng long time.

i am 28 year old female, and a smoker…….hence the reason why im scared! my voice has deepened and gone kinda husky and combined with the other things im experiencing, my mate has kindly said he thinks ive got lung cancer! this has scared me so much that im now not wanting to go and see my doctor.

i hope someone here has some more helpful advice, or could at least say hes talking rubbish – hes not medically qualified, but a mechanic!!!

thanks in advance xxx

i highly doubt u have lung cancer
after nine months you would be in agonising pain and every breath you take would be a struggle
it sounds like you have a chest infection wich can be caused by smoking i myself have had severe chest pains due to smoking
you need to see another doctor
