Chest pain in 18 year old male?

Posted by · Leave a Comment

Hey ya’ll 18 year old male 6 foot 155 pounds active lifestyle, only family histoy of heart disease is after 60. For a couple of months I’ve been having really random chest pains. The pain is sometimes localized and sometimes just randomly shows up in a different spot. It’s not unbearable and is really very mild kindof like a discomfort. It doesn’t come on with exercise. In fact exercise seems to make it go away. Usually I get it when i’m sitting in class or laying in my room doing nothing. It can be sharp and quick or ache for a couple seconds. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to it. Read more of this post

High blood pressure, tell me how bad this is?

So in Bio today we were learning about the heart and whatnot….. And it was brought to my attention many “symptoms” or “concerns” I have regarding my blood pressure. What heart rate is too low?

Posted by · Leave a Comment

I got a friend age 70. He called and said he was feeling out of breath after a little walking, etc. which is a sign of heart issues. He has had a quadruple bypass some years ago. He said he went to the doctor and his heart rate was 60. I said 60-100 is normal and he said “not for me”, “normal for me is 80″. I’ve heard that the lower your heart rate is the better. 65 per minute for years or over a life time is better than always having your rate up at 85. I lost some weight in 2004, I went from 152 pounds to 129 in 3 weeks while eating normally. Read more of this post

Did I have an infarction?

Posted by · Leave a Comment

A few days ago I had a chest pain for about 3 days. At some point it was more of a discomfort than pain, there were a few moment were it got worst and got me very restless and couldn’t stop walking around and being anxious. It’s a pain I hadn’t felt before, I could describe it as a very uncomfortable tightness in the center of the chest Also I felt weak and breathless at some points even though I’m in good physical shape. I’m just 20, and I’m think I have a sort of mild arrhythmia. Btw no shoulder pain or arm pain. Read more of this post

Father had a heart attack, wondering if I should go home?

My father had a heart attack a few days ago. Apparently my mother called an ambulance because my dad really wasn’t feeling well. During the ambulance trip to the hospital my dad had a heart attack, although he said he didn’t feel anything and was unaware (they didn’t tell him). They gave him blood thinners I think and he got better. The doctors said there was no damage to the heart and it was like there was no heart attack at all. Read more of this post

Anxiety vs heart attack chest discomfort?

Posted by · Leave a Comment

Hi,

I have been suffering anxiety for a good 5 years now on and off. My latest episode has been me worrying about having a heart attack. I had a chest x-ray, blood work and an ECG done and everything was normal (this was about a month ago). However, I feel this pressure/tightness in the chest pretty much the whole day. I keep worrying that it might be a heart attack. If I had tests done about a month ago, is there any chance that my current chest discomfort is heart attack-related? Read more of this post
