Management of chronic PVC’s in healthy 50 yo WF?

Posted by · Leave a Comment

I’m a retired physician and my anxious wife is beset by chronic recurrent PVCs for 5 years but worsening. Despite intermittent periods where her beta blocker Toprol has seemed effective, there is a clear progression of symptomatology wherein she experiences palpatation and sense of impending syncope. She throws up to 6 a minute on a bad day with a few bigeminals but no coupling. Read more of this post

How to raise resting heart rate?

Posted by · Leave a Comment

I’m being held in the hospital (against my will) right now because my heart rate is too low at night for the doctors to let me go. Its been dipping into the low 30s at night, and they need it to not go under 40 for three days until I can leave. Most of the night it is in the low 40s though. I have been here for three weeks and I am becoming extremely depressed.

They are saying that gaining weight and conserving all of my energy is the best way to raise my heartrate. So basically I sit around all day, am very uncomfortable, am always 100 percent full, and I have to stuff 3000 calories into me. Read more of this post

Anyone heard of WelChol? Are meds absolutely necessary for cholesterol?

My health is excellent, but…my cholesterol is high. It has been high all of my life. The HDL is 60, but the LDL is 191. Triclycerides are 166.

My diet is good and I am NOT overweight. I do not eat fatty foods or foods high is cholesterol. I walk almost daily, except when the weather doesn’t allow. I do not smoke, and I do not have high blood pressure. Read more of this post

The difference between low dose aspirin and regular aspirin

Posted by · Leave a Comment

Is “bayer women’s low dose aspirin” the same as regular aspirin pills?

they say to prevent future heart attacks in the future drink an aspirin daily…i just want to make sure if they have a difference….thanks

Best Answer

Low dose aspirin tablets (men or women’s) contain 81 mg of aspirin. A regular aspirin tablet contains 325 mg. (acetylsalicylic acid) Presently liquid aspirin is not available for use in humans. So just take a low dose aspirin a day to help prevent a future heart attack. The aspirin does two things. It helps to reduce inflammation and acts as a blood thinner. It will help prevent blood clots from forming in narrowed arteries and assists in the blood flow through a narrowed artery. All aspirin is the same substance, acetylsalicylic acid. The only difference is the dose.

I haven’t been feeling well these past few months, I have been feeling dizzy or “vertigo” as I researched on the internet. It only last for a few seconds, about 10-15 times a day if not more. Some days are better then others, I just haven’t been feeling like myself. Every thing is normal, same eating habits, period on time, and everything like that. What is wrong with me?
